Dream coming true

For as long as I can remember I have wanted to live on The River . What I call "The River" is the Intercoastal Waterway. It runs from NY to FL ... if you want to read more on it ... click The River above. Anywho ... I can remember being 5 years old skiing up and down that river all day long, begging my parents to just let us stay a little while longer. They were tired, sun burnt wind burnt and ready to go home ... one more time please just a little longer. Our boat was often the first out of storage from winter and most of the time the last to be put up. I skied and wake boarded when it was freezing out. I loved it ... I still do! We used to drive up and down up and down on the river looking at every single open house, open lot just dreaming that I would one day get a chance to live there. I begged my parents to buy a lot, buy a house, even if it is a trailer ... just something. They never did, now they get mad at them selves when we travel the waterway ... 1/4 acre lots are selling for $375,000 when they used to sell acres for $35,000. My MIL is a Real Estate Agent ... she is always on the look out for me ... well GUESS WHAT ... she found us a fixer upper. It is on a lot 102 x 170 I am not sure how much acre wise it is ... I would think over 1/4 under 1/2. (I know it is bigger than the one we are on now)
But the house is 4700+ heated and the best part ...
ON THE WATER ...

it has a pool and a hot tub: (picture from last spring)
The View of the river ... is awesome!
Look at this: (pool closed for winter) House from across river:
We put a bid in, they accepted it!

Yes you heard me they accepted our bid - we have some inspections that we have ordered. Our closing is based on those inspections ... the HVAC inspection did not go well ... hope the others go better!

Wish us lots of luck and patience! We will need it!

Before looking at these pictures remember that a little paint goes a long way!

I like pink but OMG ... this is bad ... we are thinking a light ocean blue

What's creepy is my parents just bought a house down on the Black River in Georgetown last month. I'm excited to get away every now and then. Excellent time to buy vacation property!!

That is amazing, the house looks great (except for the Pepto kitchen). Good luck with the other inspections and renovations.

Gorgeous house! (Minus the pink, of course...) Hope there isn't too much "fixing up" to do on it, but congrats on the great find!

Awesome! Yep, that's a lot of pink.

To get your acreage, divide the square feet by 43,560. Yours is 0.398 acres.

It doesn't look like there's too much "fixing up" to do.

Congratulations!
