OMG Horrible Mommy Of 2 Over Here

Okay so a Lady just stopped by to talk to us about cleaning our house every 2 weeks. We had a cleaning service at our other house, and it was wonderful. They came every 3 weeks and DEEP cleaned ... we vacuumed and picked up in between but for the most part they did all the deep nasty cleaning. We haven't used that service since we moved, with both house payments and all of our double bills we decided we could do it. Now I am almost ready to go back to work, DH is at work FULL TIME and with 2 babies to watch after our house is a mess. Okay so on to me being a horrible mommy ...
The lady was supposed to be here at 4 ... she was running late - didn't actually get here until 4:35 ... Tatum was supper crabby after Day Care so I went to up stairs to put her down for a nap ... she had JUST fallen asleep when the lady ran the door bell. We have this Musical Door Bell that DH picked out ... it is LOUD and obnoxious. So of course ... Tatum wakes up screaming (she doesn't usually nap after day care she is usually in bed by 7 and sleeps until 7, yes I know LUCKY that is how we ended up with baby #2 ... she has been sleeping 7-7 since 3 months old) Anyway ... I put Bowdie down on his boppie on the couch ... sitting up (to try and help his acid reflux) and took Tatum into the kitchen to wash her hands and face ... I have to keep her clean so she can touch her brother! Andy was walking the house with the cleaning lady and all of a sudden I hear Bowdie SCREAMING ... I get Tatum dried off and walk into the room thinking he is just screaming so he can eat AGAIN ... NOPE he fell off of the couch. ON TO THE FLOOR ... yes he did. AND IT WAS MY FAULT! Holly shit how can I be so stupid as to leave him on the couch and walk away ... serious. I am an idiot. He seems to be okay ... of course I called the Dr ... they are so sick of me I am sure ... she said he is so small and it is okay they can handle much more than we think they can ... I of course was crying and telling her how dumb I am. She of course telling me I am not dumb, everyone has accidents and he will be fine ... aack I need a break! Really I do!

My doctor told me that if my baby DIDN'T fall off the couch/bed then something was probably wrong with ME! So, I took that to mean that I was normal in those crazy times. I hope he is ok and that Tatum still gets to bed on time. And DISCONNECT that dang door bell!! So, did you hire the cleaning lady?

i am sure baby b is okay!!! seriously. just keep your eye on him...but, i'm sure he's just fine.

you're NOT bad mommy at all. i know that's how you're feeling right now, but you're not. a bad mommy is someone who hurts their kids on purpose. that's NOT YOU!!

you know, you've never had 2 babies under 2 to take care of before, so this is all "learn as you go".

you were doing what you thought was best for both kiddos...making sure that bowdie was sitting up to help his reflux & getting tatum bug clean so she doesn't get her brother sick. i know if you had thought for one second that he would fall off, you would've put him somewhere else.

besides, when i was 6 weeks old, my sister picked me up out of my basinent (she was told not to, but did it anyway) & dropped me on my head on the floor. i turned out okay, right? please say yes! no permanent damage done. :0)

Oh, I've been there...had to make the same humiliating call to the pediatrician myself. I was SOBBING. And the nurse was just AWFUL to me.

And that was the day I switched doctors.

: )

Dear when Zachary was a baby he fell off of our bed more than once. You are not a bad mom at all. Now if you didn't care that he fell and didn't respond the way you did and thought it was funny or if you pushed him off the couch - that would make you a bad mom! Which you are the total opposite of.

I thought two was hard and mine are almost 6 years apart in age. I couldn't imagine having 2 under 2. You are doing an amazing job, don't doubt yourself!

Hugs and I hope you were able to get Bowden's feeding and sleeping taken care of so you can get yourself some sleep.

Accidents happen, and I'm glad that when we talked about it last night that you're ok now...and so is Bowden. I can remember babysitting and small kids taking a tumble down the steps (with parents there) and at one point Hannah had the fall down the steps tuck MASTERED! Kids are resilliant. You're a great Mom! Hang in there!

We all have our bad mommy moments. I have to watch my daughter because she puts everything in her mouth.

It happens to everyone. You are NOT a bad mommy! When the hubs gets home tonight, hand him the kids and tell him you are takign a break. Then disappear for at least 15-30 minutes. Even if it just to go outside and breathe. It's ok and I promise it does get easier. Believe me ...I've been there.

um, yeah. Stella rolled of our giant waterbed that is probably twice as tall as a couch. You are NOT a horrible Mom. I think we've all done it!! Oh, and then there was that time she was in the bouncy seat, all strapped in - asleep, and I walked out for 2 seconds and came back and she was HANGING UPSIDE DOWN by the straps. Feel better now? LOL

Oh my, I know that must have been so scary! But, do not think you are a bad mom cuz you are not! I have heard from just about every mom I know that they have put their baby down on a couch or chair and the baby rolls off. You were trying to do a good thing anyway, and you have your hands full right now. On another note, hope you guys didn't get too much from tropical storm Hanna. It is POURING down rain here right now and the wind is REALLY blowing. Hanf in there!

Don't beat yourself up about it. Kade fell of the bed and cracked his head open. I was screaming louder than he was. He did not even get a stitch. I understand how you feel though.
