Getting better

Well we are all starting to feel a little bit better ... all of us but Tatum. I feel so so sorry for her, her little nose is so red and sore. She has had a ear infection for 6 almost 7 weeks now and FINALLY the Dr has convinced us to go see a Ear, Nose & Throat Dr. I am hoping that it wont result in tubes, but I would guess that is the route they will try to steer us. I am so afraid of tubes, with the pool and all in the back yard I am not sure how we will keep her out of it or keep those plugs in her ears ... anyone out there have plugs in?! Got some advise for me?!
We had some friends stop by yesterday ... and we ended up hanging out all day and night, it was a blast! Pat and Brandi ... Pat is a long time friend of Andy's and he and Brandi have now been married a year. They fished, we hit golf balls into the river and then we cooked out steak and crab legs ... both babies were so so well behaved! Bowden slept through dinner, and Tatum was wonderful ... the FIRST FULL meal I have eaten since having Bowden! It was much needed! However Bowden slept too much during the day and then last night SUCKED! But it is getting better folks! Really it is ... I am starting to see light at the end of my tunnel!
Hope you all had a great weekend and that you have a great week!

i hope she doesn't need plugs but if she does...i dont think it's that evasive of a surgery. good luck with that though..bless her heart.

I am glad everyone is starting to feel better. If tubes are what Tatum needs, then do it knowing that she'll feel and hear so much better afterwards!! When Cameron was 2 he was about to get them because he had never ending ear infections. Someone told me to put a couple of drops of 1/2 vinegar & 1/2 rubbing alcohol in his ears a few times a day. I asked his doctor about it and he said it would not help, but couldn't hurt, so I did it and the child is 15 years old and never had another ear infection. I do know people who's kids swim with the plugs in their ears and they just have a rule that you can't swim without them, so the kids just know to wear them and things are fine. Good luck!!!

i'm so happy to hear that things are getting better..."light at the end of the tunnel" as you said.

and, yeah, the tubes in tatum bug's ears might suck (with the pool & all), but i know they'll make her feel better! and, you'll feel better, too.

glad you got to spend some time with friends yesterday & had what sounds like a very delicious meal!

can't wait to see you in november!!

Lindsay got Tubes in January and she's not had an infection since! It's an easy surgery and well worth it. I'm sure you can find a way to make tubes fun. Besides, our doc said we didn't need them just don't let them go under into deep water. Talk to the doc about your concerns and it will all be fine!

Glad you all are starting to feel better!! Josey has tubes, she got them back in March and I LOVE them!! She had swim lessons over the summer and we still pour water over her head in the bathtub and have had no problems (she didn't have earplugs or anything). Our doc was pretty easy going about all of that...but they do make custom fit earplugs if she is in the water ALL the time! Plus...it wouldn't be until next summer anyway. Fall/Winter time was the worst for Josey and the tubes did wonders for her and hopefully will do them again this winter!!

Good luck, see what the ENT says, maybe he will have some good advice!

Feel better. My one daughter was throwing up last night. I would take a cold over throw up any day.
